James Hines


James is well known in the property market having extensive experience in the Residential and Commercial sectors. Having overseen the expansion of Shires Residential with the purchase of Marshall Buck & Casson Ltd in 2014, James’ drive and in depth knowledge of the property market has enabled Shires Residential to continue to grow. He has a particular interest in Planning and Development work as well as expanding the Large Portfolio Landlord arm of the Property Management Department.

Phillippa Storey


Phillippa joined Shires 10 years ago and due to her wide and in depth knowledge of the property market was soon promoted to office manager. Phillippa coordinates every aspect of the daily management and combines client care with corporate delivery of the services from Shires. Recently appointed a director of Shires MBC Ltd, Phillippa continues to be the first point of contact for landlords and tenants and is in a strong position to offer the advice needed for success in the rental sector.

Ryan Isaac


Ryan joined Shires in 2010 when he moved to Suffolk and brought with him considerable experience in the letting industry. Recently becoming a Director of Shires MBC Ltd, Ryan is renowned for his superb customer service and valuable advice for new landlords in relation to the management of their rental property. Ryan is also particularly helpful to and identifies the need of prospective tenants which is the secret to a successful tenancy. Ryan together with Phillippa and the team look forward to continuing to expand the rental business of the Bury St Edmunds office.

Maria Hunt

Senior Lettings Administrator

Maria joined Shires 8 years ago and has wide ranging experience in the customer service environment. Maria oversees the property management, arranging regular inspections of landlord client property, coordinating repairs and completing reports for landlords. Maria is also responsible for the detailed and exacting requirements of tenancy deposit regulations and deposit returns following the final inspections of property. Maria is a key part of Shires client success and is a beneficial source of information for both landlords and tenants.

Clare Mills

Senior Lettings Administrator

Clare joined Shires in 2008 and has an extensive knowledge of the legal documentation and accuracy required in the preparation of tenancy agreements and rental payments. The procedure includes proof of identity, credit and employment referencing, compliance with money laundering regulations, gas and electricity regulations and tenant/landlord responsibility. Clare also coordinates the detailed inventory preparation and energy performance certificates, making Clare’s support for landlords always greatly appreciated.

Mildenhall Team

Richard Carrington


Richard joined Shires in 2002 having previously worked throughout Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. Having lived in the Mildenhall area all of his life, Richards local knowledge and considerable experience is fundamental in today’s market. Richard has overseen the expansion of Shires over recent years and has a wide remit including sales, lettings, property management, land and acquisition work.

George Aves

Lettings Manager

George has been an integral part of the Shires team since completing his school work experience many years ago and was promoted to his present role in November 2017. George has day to day responsibility for the lettings operation and oversees our large portfolio of managed properties.

Sue Williams

Sales Manager

A familiar face at Shires, Sue’s knowledge and experience is invaluable in her senior position in the sales team. She works closely alongside our vendor and purchaser clients to ensure a smooth and streamlined sales process and has a very pro-active work ethic.

Jodie White

Lettings Administrator

Jodie is a pivotal member of our team and oversees the admin support for the lettings department. She is responsible for the marketing of our rental properties, has a keen eye for detail and administers all important landlord correspondence.

Sophie Edwards

Sales Administrator & Negotiator

Sophie joined the Shires team in January 2016 and has a proven background in customer service. She oversees the marketing material and admin for the sales department and has taken on additional duties including viewings and sales progression.

Callie Butcher

Lettings Negotiator

Callie joined the Shires team in December 2017 and will predominately be working with the lettings department organising and carrying out routine inspections and managing the regular maintenance work required for our portfolio of properties. She will also be seen out and about meeting clients for viewings and helping with their property requirements.

Howard Reid

Agency Support

Howard joined the Shires team in early 2014 and provides valuable agency support across our network of offices. He also maintains our external advertising boards and is often spotted out and about in his van.

Michelle Lotts

Lettings Negotiator

Michelle joined the busy Mildenhall lettings team in 2018 with a proven background in customer service. Michelle is ideally placed to match potential tenants with properties and will often be the friendly face seen out on viewings and for clients coming into our office.

Janine Hamill


Janine joined the company in 2012, having quickly been promoted within the company Janine oversees the day to day running of The Brandon & Thetford Office. She has a wealth of experience and has an energetic and enthusiastic approach to agency. A well-known and respected figure in the local property market, Janine welcomes clients old and new.

Zena Ayling

Assistant Manager

Zena joined Shires in 2012 when our Brandon branch opened; Zena’s role has changed over the years and is now a wonderful assistant manager to our busy, proactive Brandon & Thetford team.  Zena is often office based and is able to help with both sales and lettings enquiries. Heather joined our Brandon and Thetford team in 2015, bringing 25+ years of estate agency experience with her. Heather accompanies viewings on Saturdays helping applicants find their perfect home; Heather looks forward to seeing you on your next viewing with Shires.

Danielle joined the company in 2016. Danielle has previous experience in customer focused roles and is keen to adapt her skills for the estate agency business.
